"Cushing’s Disease and Equine Metabolic Syndrome," sponsored by Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica, was presented by Nicholas Frank, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, professor and chair of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in N. Grafton, Mass.; Hal Schott II, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, professor at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine; and Ben Buchanan, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, ACVECC, head of the ICU and internal medicine units Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Stephenville, Texas.

Frank, Schott, and Buchanan discussed the challenges of properly diagnosing and treating/managing horses afflicted with equine Cushing’s disease, equine metabolic syndrome, and associated laminitis.
