The Kentucky Horse Park is pleased to announce that the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA) is moving their headquarters to the National Horse Center at the park. This move will enable the Friesian breed to increase its visibility in the North American equine industry. It also brings to 28 the number of national and regional equine organizations now headquartered at the park. This relocation will also provide an opportunity for the Friesian to be showcased during the 2010 World Equestrian Games at the park.

John Nicholson, executive director of the Kentucky Horse Park, stated, “We couldn’t be happier that the FHANA is moving to our National Horse Center. With every organization that comes in, the networking, visibility, marketing, and promotional opportunities increase to everyone’s advantage. The Friesians are always among the most popular breed on display at the park, so we are just thrilled that their national organization will now have a permanent presence here as well.”

The FHANA is also pleased to introduce new administrative director Bryan J. Quinsey. Bryan comes to FHANA with an extensive background in marketing, economic development, operations, and visioning. His experience and skills are a direct fit with the FHANA administrative director role requirements; he has worked with non-profit associations, chambers of commerce, economic development recruiting agencies, and volunteer organizations, both as a volunteer and leader of volunteers. He has been employed as a groom, trainer, and manager at horse operations in Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, and his native Ontario, Canada. He has worked with show horses, race horses, and carriage driving horses. He has worked with numerous show horse trainers and owners including Gib Marcucci, Don Harris, Charlie Smith, Jim B. Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler, Drs. Paul and Nancy Williams, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weaver. Bryan is also a former contributor for numerous horse magazines, including The Hackney Journal, Horse World, and Saddle & Bridle. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Carriage Association of America, and a former member of the United Professional Horseman’s Association (UPHA) and American Hackney Horse Society (AHHS)
