More than 100 members of the National Hay Association are expected to attend the organization’s annual 110th convention, which will be held at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, Ky., on Sept. 29- Oct. 1. Tom Creech, owner of Charles T. Creech, Inc. (hay and straw) and Creech Services, Inc. (horse bedding removal and producer of Thoroughbred Compost) is national president of the organization for 2005.

The National Hay Association was formed in 1895 and has flourished throughout changing eras of agriculture and agribusiness. It currently has more than 500 members, primarily growers and dealers in hay and straw. Don Kieffer, the organization’s executive director, is based in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The National Convention alternates between Western and Eastern sites, Creech said, and this year’s convention will center on the horse, providing farm tours as well as presentations on the international business of growing and marketing hay and straw.

Creech also has introduced an estate-planning session to the convention
