The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) concluded an emergency wild horse gather at the Antelope Valley Herd Management Area (HMA), located on private land near Bonne Springs, Nevada, approximately 40 miles southwest of Wendover, on June 7.

The BLM gathered 96 wild horses (46 stallions, 35 mares, and 15 foals) and transported 94 (45 stallions, 34 mares, and 15 foals) horses to Indian Lakes Off-Range Corral, in Fallon, Nevada. One stallion was released back to the range and a 13-year-old mare died at the gather location.

The BLM has set the appropriate management level for the Antelope Valley Herd Management Area where the Boone Spring area is located, at 155-259 adult wild horses. As of March 1, the BLM estimated the population at 1,320 wild horses (not including foals born this year).
