A Flour Bluff, Texas, woman hopes the offer of a $4,000 cash reward will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for shooting her 16-year-old Quarter Horse while he grazed in his pasture.

Owner Debbie Tucker discovered the animal with gunshot wounds to the neck and ribs around 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 24. Veterinarians treated the horse, but he later died of wound-related injuries.

Corpus Christi police sergeant Tony Acevedo said the animal was probably the victim of a drive-by shooting. The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Crime Stoppers at 361/888-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential
