The Kentucky Round Up 2014, hosted by the Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) on Feb. 15-16, at the Kentucky Horse Park, has announced its schedule of clinicians, demonstrations, exhibits, and activities for families, children, novice horse owners and advanced horsemen. The full two-day schedule includes breed displays and a cowboy mounted shooting competition.

"Wild about horses" is the theme for our petting-friendly "Breeds Barn" this year. Represented breeds will include Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds, Saddlebreds, Arabians, Kentucky Mountain Horses, Paints, Quarter Horses, Rocky Mountain Horses, Morgans, Paso Finos, Gypsy Horses, Miniature Horses, and more.

In the educational area, the event will host the U.S. Pony Club’s Equine Exhibit, an interactive learning center. Breyer Animal Creations will be giving a series of workshops on equine model repair and decoration, and Kentucky Proud will bring information about their program.

A new and special service to the horse community this year is "Adoption Row." Adoptable horses from several rescue organizations will be introduced to the public, hopefully resulting in some happy new homes for the horses. The individual organizations will carry out adoptions according to their own standard procedures. Participants will include the American Horse Adoption/Saddlebred Rescue, the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, the Kentucky Equine Humane Center, and the Lexington Humane Society
