Horse owners are invited to a full day equine educational program focused on keeping your horse healthy. The workshop, which is organized and sponsored by Illinois and Wisconsin Cooperative Extension Services, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 in Bristol, Wis.

Session topics and speakers include:

  • Taking Care of Your Horse: A Horse’s Health Check-Up–Liv Sandburg, MS, University of Wisconsin (UW)-Extension
  • Dentistry–Travis Henry, DVM, Midwest Equine Services
  • Foot Care–Kevin Nelson, DVM, Bristol Veterinary Clinic
  • Internal and External Parasites–Kevin Nelson, DVM, Bristol Veterinary Clinic
  • Vaccinations and Preventing Diseases–Tracy Busalacchi, DVM, Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic
  • Chiropractic Care–Tracy Busalacchi, DVM, Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic

The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m, and lunch is included with the program fees. Early bird registration fees are $30 per person or $50 for two people and $15 per youth. After Feb. 1, 2013 registration fees increase.
