The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Foundation announced today (Nov. 27) a new partnership with Pfizer Animal Health that will establish the Pfizer Animal Health Fellowship Fund for Inflammation, Infectious Disease, and Immunology.

Pfizer has granted $120,000 to the ACVIM Foundation, which includes funding for three grants of $30,000 each to fund research in the equine, small animal, and livestock (excluding equine) fields, and to administer the fund. The purpose of these grants is to support animal health studies with a focus on inflammation, infectious disease, and immunology research.

"The ACVIM Foundation is committed to eliminating animal and human disease by supporting discovery, education, and partnerships throughout the global community of medicine," said Paige Heydon, director of the ACVIM Foundation. "This new strategic partnership with Pfizer Animal Health provides funding for advanced veterinary research that will go a long way towards research around the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of disease in animals being conducted by ACVIM Diplomates."
