Texas Horse Attacker Sought

Law enforcement authorities in Texas are seeking whoever is responsible for beating a horse then setting it ablaze.

Houston Police Department (HPD) Spokesman Victor Senties said that on March 11, police patrol personnel were called to the scene after someone in a Houston neighborhood found the horse. The animal had been beaten severely, doused with kerosene, and then set on fire, he said. Harris County livestock officers later euthanized the horse at the scene, Senties said.
“The horse was in pretty bad shape,” he said.
HPD Major Offenders Unit is investigating the incident, but have no leads.
“We don’t even know who the horse’s owner is,” Senties said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the HPD Major Offenders Unit at 713/308-3100, or CrimeStoppers at 713/222-TIPS (8477).
