The University of Maryland's Equine Studies Program is hosting its third Pasture Walk at the Equine Rotational Grazing Demonstration site on Aug. 12 from 6-8 p.m. EDT.

Participants will receive a tour of the educational facility as well as learn how to identify and control weeds common to horse pastures in the Mid-Atlantic. On hand will be several horse, forage and conservation experts that will answer questions about what type of toxic weeds are common in this area, weed control methods, and ways to improve the quality of horse pastures.

Horse farm owners can also attend the Horse Pasture Management Seminar on Sept. 11 which will include more in-depth discussions on a variety of pasture and grazing management issues. Both events are located at the University of Maryland's Agricultural Research and Education Center, 4241 Folly Quarter Road, Ellicott City, Md.
