Texas A&M Vet School Hosting Equine Program for 4-H, Pony Club Youth

The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the Department of Animal Science, will host “Aggie Day” Jan. 12 to educate youngsters on equine science and horsemanship through lectures, demonstrations, discussion panels, and hands-on activities.

“Aggie Day” encompasses 26 equine education stations, and includes topics such as internal parasites, laminitis, anatomy, horse shoeing, and nutritional requirements, and is hosted every other year by the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and Animal Science Department.

The education from Aggie Day helps members of the Pony Club meet knowledge standards set by the club, as well as increase their own personal understanding of equine practices
