Nominations are now open for the 2013 PagePlay Equestrian Social Media Awards (ESMAs), and The Horse and TheHorse.com.are hoping to continue the ESMA success we’ve enjoyed over the past two years. But to do that, we need your help in nominating us.

In the inaugural ESMAs, presented in 2011, TheHorse.com took home top honors in the "Best Use of Twitter, International" and the "Most Informative, International" categories, and third place in the "Best Use of Facebook, International" category. Last year, in 2012, The Horse magazine and TheHorse.com were awarded first place in the "Best Use of Facebook" category, second place in the "Most Informative" category, and third place in the "Best Use of Social Media by a Publication" category.

Readers have until 12:00 p.m. GMT on Dec. 21, to nominate their social media favorites via the ESMA website in a number of categories. Nominations can be for riders, charities, bloggers, Facebook pages and competitions, and more (a full list is available below).

Ten finalists in each category are announced mid January and will be awarded a score, which is based 75% on the views of the expert panel and 25% on a public vote. Each finalist creates a 30-second ESMA acceptance speech video, and winners are announced early in March during an online award ceremony, which anyone can attend online
