A Montana woman has pleaded no contest to charges connected to the seizure of 29 horses from her rescue farm two years ago.

In 2014, deputies from the Broadwater County, Montana, sheriff’s office seized 29 allegedly malnourished horses and five goats from Rocky Acres Horse Rescue in Townsend, Montana. Rescue operator Dalene Ann Rindal was later arrested and charged with 34 counts of felony animal cruelty.

On June 10, under a plea deal, Rindal pleaded no contest to five felony and 10 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty, said Broadwater County Undersheriff Brandon Harris.

Rindal surrendered eight horses she retained custody of as part of the plea agreement, Harris said
