The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s Board of Directors recently named Terence Collier president of the organization at its most recent meeting. Collier, best known in the horse racing industry as the director of marketing and the sales announcer for Kentucky-based Thoroughbred auctioneers Fasig-Tipton, succeeds John Stuart, who resigned from his position so that he could better focus his attentions on raising money for the TRF.

A native of England, Collier has long been a supporter and advocate of the TRF. Through his work with Fasig-Tipton’s Blue Horse Charities, he has helped raise money for the organization and, over the years, has generously volunteered his time and skills to serve as the announcer at the TRF’s annual fund-raising gala in Saratoga.

“It is an honor to head a foundation doing so much good work,” Collier said. “One of the
challenges of my presidency will be to coordinate the excellent work of the many state chapters of the TRF and providing more efficient communication to our directors and members. John Stuart, our retiring president, and Diana Pikulski, our executive director, have overseen an incredible growth period for us and the current board is committed to continuing a policy of expansion of fund raising, which, in turn, will allow the TRF to do more of what it already does so well.”

Stuart served as the TRF’s president for five years, an unparalleled period of growth for the organization during which he excelled as a fund-raiser and as a manager of the TRF’s growing population of and retirement facilities
