Wisconsin Horse Nutrition Workshop Scheduled for Feb. 11

A one-day equine educational program for horse owners will take place on Feb. 11 in Bristol, Wis. The program will focus on horse nutrition, and is being organized and sponsored by Illinois and Wisconsin Cooperative Extension Services.

Some of the topics of discussion include general horse nutrition, managing manure, supplementing diets with vitamins and minerals, managing hay, and balancing rations.

Speakers will include Kevin Kline, PhD, equine specialist with Illinois Extension and professor of animal science at the University of Illinois; Liv Sandberg, PhD, University of Wisconsin-Extension equine specialist; and Craig Sandmeir, equine nutrition specialist.

The program runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch is included with the program fees, which are $30 per person, $50 for two people, and $15 per youth. Early bird registration ends on Feb. 3 and registration fees will increase after that date
