More than 700 trophies won by convicted embezzler Rita Crundwell will go on sale during an online auction in November. The awards are the latest assets belonging to the former high-profile Quarter Horse breeder and exhibitor to be sold to fulfill a restitution agreement with the city of Dixon, Illinois.

In 2012, a federal grand jury indicted Crundwell for misappropriating more than $53 million from the city, where she’d served as comptroller since the 1980s. Federal agents charged her with one count of wire fraud and, under a plea deal, Crundwell admitted to stealing the funds to finance her Quarter Horse breeding and showing business. She also agreed that she owed the city $53,740,394 in restitution. Crundwell was sentenced to serve more than 19 years in federal prison.

While Crundwell remains incarcerated U.S. Marshals sold assets including her Quarter Horse herd, semen and breeding assets, breeding royalties, and more than 700 personal items. Jason R. Wojdylo, chief inspector for the U.S. Marshals Service’s asset forfeiture division, said items auctioned from Oct. 20 to Nov. 3 fetched a total of $46,873.

Now, Crundwell’s award collection—including some 767 trophies and 122 plaques—will be sold during a sealed bid online auction, Wojdylo said
