Tennessee law enforcement authorities are hoping the public can help identify who shot and killed a horse in Greene County.

Greene County Sheriff’s Department Chief Detective Jeff Morgan said deputies responded to a call from an owner about a horse that was found dead on June 23. Further investigation revealed that the horse had sustained a gunshot wound.

The Tennessee Department is assisting with the ongoing investigation, Morgan said.

He declined further comment
