UT Veterinary College Offers Conference for Horse Owners

Lecture topics will include hoof care, nutrition, emergency care, dentistry, eye diseases, behavior, and more.

The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (UTCVM) will host "Knowing Your Horse Inside and Out," a conference for horse owners, on Feb. 21.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the conference lasts until 4:30 p.m. The conference will be held in room A118 at the college which is located on the UT agricultural campus at 2407 River Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Tours of the new equine hospital and equine performance and rehabilitation center will be available immediately following the conference.

The conference is designed for horse owners of all experience levels. Speakers will include board-certified faculty of the UT Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and UT Extension. Lecture topics will include maintaining healthy feet, acupuncture, nutrition, emergency care, dentistry, ocular diseases, pasture management, stem cell therapy, and behavior
