The Unwanted Horse Coalition (UHC) released its inaugural issue of the UHC Media Roundup Oct. 27. The news summary, the first of its kind issued by the UHC, was sent to American Horse Council and Unwanted Horse Coalition mailing lists, as well as others who requested joining the mailing list.

The UHC Media Roundup was initiated by the Coalition to highlight the problem of unwanted horses and what the horse community is doing to deal with this issue. It will focus on news, articles, and events pertaining to unwanted horses and owning responsibly.

"As the mission of the UHC is to reduce the number of unwanted horses through education, we at the UHC felt it important to create such a news summary to collect and distribute pertinent information regarding unwanted horses to as many people as possible to help achieve this objective," said Ericka Caslin, director of the UHC.

The UHC Media Roundup will contain not only articles and activities dealing with unwanted horses, but also a section for events to benefit unwanted horses
