Trees can be very beneficial on horse properties. But did you know that some can be deadly to your horses?

In last week’s poll, we asked our readers what toxic trees they were most concerned about on their pastures and/or property. More than 650 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 673 respondents, 201 (30%) said they are most concerned about red maple trees, while 137 (20%) are concerned about black walnut trees. Another 123 respondents (18%) worry most about wild cherry trees on their property. Some 49 people (7%) find box elder trees most concerning, and only 36 respondents (5%) are most concerned about Japanese yew. The remaining 127 respondents (19%) are most concerned with "other" toxic trees.
