"Where Have All the Horses Gone" is the theme for the American Horse Council's (AHC) 2014 National Issues Forum held June 24 in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the AHC's annual meeting. The annual meeting is scheduled for June 22-25 at the Washington Court Hotel.

The AHC says that the issues forum will seek to answer questions related to the dramatic drop in the number of horses registered by every breed registry over the past five years.

The AHC's convention will also include a congressional reception, the "Congressional Ride-In," meetings of all AHC committees and the Unwanted Horse Coalition, and the AHC's breed roundtable. The breed roundtable, the only meeting that brings leaders of various horse organizations and disciplines together, will be held on June 23.

The congressional reception June 24 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building is an opportunity for the horse community to visit informally with members of Congress and discuss industry concerns
