Shawna and Vinton Karrasch, creators of the unique On Target, Training program, will be in Wellington, FL, from February 12-29. The pair will offer clinics and training seminars throughout the area.

A clinic is already scheduled for February 15 at the Winter Equestrian Festival, to be held on the showgrounds in Wellington. Sponsored by Gene Mische’s Stadium Jumping, the event will be attended by show competitors and is also open to the public. The planned, six-hour schedule will include an introduction to the basics of On Target Training-including bridge conditioning, target training and starting a horse. Shawna and Vinton will also present demonstrations with their own horses and continue by teaching attendees how to use On Target for more advanced situations, such as training under saddle, trailer loading and ground manners.

While in Florida, Shawna and Vinton will be employing their On Target Training methods to help develop several horses with top show jumping trainer John Madden, and dressage riders Sue Blinks and Jane Savoie.

John Madden is an Olympic show jumping trainer who, in 1998, trained the AGA Rider of the Year, Beezie Patton, and the AGA Horse of the Year, Dynamite. Sue Blinks is a distinguished dressage rider, Olympic hopeful and member of the United States Equestrian Team (USET) who also serves as an America Horse Shows Association (AHSA) dressage judge. Finally, Jane Savoie is a dressage trainer and respected author who has represented the United States internationally as a member of the USET
