Suspect Sought in N.D. Horse Dragging

Bottineau County, N.D., law enforcement authorities hope the public can help them find and arrest whoever is responsible for the dragging death of a Shetland Pony last month.

Bottineau County Sheriff Steven Watson said that on Sept. 24, sheriff’s department personnel responded to a call from the pony’s owner that the animal was missing. Deputies later found the pony along a nearby roadside, Watson said.

The animal was allegedly chased, then tied to a truck, and dragged until it was dead, he said.

“Whoever did this then put the horse in the truck and dumped it in a ditch alongside the road,” Watson said
