The International Equestrian Organizers Alliance (IEOA) has become the first of the former Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) associate members to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU), following the removal of the associate member status from the FEI Statutes at the 2012 General Assembly.

The MOU, which was signed by IEOA President Peter Bollen and FEI Secretary General Ingmar De Vos, formally acknowledges the IEOA as an organization recognized by the FEI.

The IEOA is the umbrella organization for international organizers in jumping, dressage, eventing, and driving, and is in the process of becoming the representative body for event organizers in all seven of the FEI disciplines.

The MOU covers universal issues such as recognition, FEI rules and regulations, horse welfare, code of ethics, commitment to democratic processes, consultation, FEI General Assembly, FEI Sports Forum and meetings, governing law, dispute resolution, communication, and implementation. It also addresses areas of interest unique to the IEOA and clearly establishes the specific relationship between the two organizations
