Equine practitioners will convene in San Antonio, Texas, this fall to acquire practical knowledge and enhance their skills at the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) 63rd Annual Convention, to be held Nov. 17-21 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

The annual convention is the world’s largest continuing education event dedicated to equine practice, anchored by more than 130 hours of continuing education; a 300-exhibitor strong trade show; and attendance comprising thousands of industry leaders, researchers, academicians, private practitioners, and students.

This year’s educational program will feature a robust variety of clinical knowledge in several areas, including laminitis, ophthalmology, infectious disease, internal medicine, and lameness. Renowned equine dental/sinus and upper respiratory surgeon Padraic Dixon, MVB, PhD, MRCVS, will present the Frank J. Milne State-of-the-Art lecture.

New to the 2017 program are 90-minute “Meet the Expert” sessions, a series of interactive small-group discussions with convention presenters distinguished in their respective fields. These forum-styled sessions will allow practitioners to source the expertise of some of the leading minds in equine medicine
