Nearly 30 horses are receiving rehabilitative care after bring removed from a riding stable near Galveston, Texas.

Sergeant Joel Caldwell, of the Galveston Police Department’s Animal Services Unit, said police personnel removed 28 horses used for beach riding from S-n-G Horseback Riding on Jan. 22. The removed animals were allegedly maltreated, he said.

Authorities later charged S-n-G Horseback Riding owner Terri Glenn with one count of cruelty to livestock animals, and further charges could follow, Caldwell said.

“We’ll get veterinary reports as they become available,” he said
