The decaying remains of three horses ostensibly butchered for meat have been found in Hialeah Gardens, Florida.

Laurie Waggoner, director of rescue operations for the South Florida Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), said the remains included those of a Thoroughbred with the upper lip removed to eliminate an identifying tattoo, a bay horse with no facial markings, and a Palomino.
