Ashlee Watts DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVS, is a large animal surgeon at Texas A&M University and director of the university’s Comparative Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory. Watts works in the equine orthopedics service and closely with the equine sports medicine and diagnostic imaging services. Her research interests include tendon, ligament, and cartilage healing; regenerative therapies; and osteoarthritis prevention. Her clinical interests include regenerative therapies for lameness and orthopedic disease, arthroscopic surgery, and fracture repair. She attended Colorado State University, where she earned her veterinary degree in 2003. She went on to complete her surgery residency and earn her PhD from Cornell University.
