Police is Forrest City, Arkansas, hope that a cash reward of more than $10,000 will help them identify those who shot and killed a horse in a pasture.

Deputy Jeff Nichols, of the Forrest City Police Department, said the owners of Jarratt Stables reported finding one of their horses dead in a pasture on May 4. The animal had been shot in the neck, Nichols said.

“The shot was at relatively close range,” Nichols said, “about 20 yards away.”
