A California man is hoping a tip will lead to the recovery of his horse that was lost when flooding caused by last week's heavy rains broke down the corral in which the animal was originally located.

Clayton Price said Spud, a 10-year-old roan Quarter Horse (with Appaloosa hindquarter markings) was located in a corral at the River Trails Riding Stables near Norco, Calif., on Dec. 21 when heavy rains caused the Santa Ana River to overflow onto the property.

"The water broke down the pen he was in and he was swept into the river," said Price, who operates the riding stable.

Two other corrals containing three other horses withstood the flooding, Price said
