"Her teaching efforts and extension programs focusing on horse health, safety, pasture management and equine business are helping to build a brighter future for the equine industry we know and love. She embodies the spirit of why this award was established five years ago."

Greene earned a doctorate degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, and she received a master's degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She received her bachelor's degree Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky.

Throughout her career, Greene has successfully integrated teaching and extension programs by involving undergraduate students as researchers, co-authors, as well as engaging them with legislative issues involving the equine industry.
